Celebrate amazing leaps of faith by practicing deep hip and hamstring openers in preparation for Hanumanasana. Even if your body typically yells out “no” to the proposition of splits pose, after 25-minutes of safe preparation with Adi, you may surprise yourself! Just remember, fabled monkey leaps don’t have anything to do with where you are today. Please be safe as you embark courageously towards your best expression of this challenging pose:)

Thank you Adi. I feel completely recharged and ready to face the world after completing the routine. A lot of teachers at school are sick around this time of the year, this 25 minute yoga routine will be perfect for them before they start the day. I will post this link on our school’s intranet system so that parents, staff, teachers and students could all benefit from it. Thank you once again. Namaste.

I’m working in a yoga blog and yoga site in Portugal: Fitness Yoga – Desporto Portugal , Beneficios Desporto – Yoga Pilates and your site will help me in my project.
Congratulations for your site

Not usually a huge fan of Adi, but this was a good, short exercise. It’s more fast-paced than Neesha’s typical run, but you get the most out of the 25-minutes.

Adi, I believe this is one of the first times I could actually get to the floor. Your preparation was great and I feel open, expanded and ready for the day! Thanks so much. I really do enjoy these short type sessions!

I feel so confident. It is my goal to do split and Adi makes it so accessible. Wow! Thanks. I am addicted to this sequence. It feels so good in the hips.

my cat adored this session–! Since I was low to the ground and he took advantage of rubbing his scent all over my face, as cats love to do. He can’t wait until I do this one again.

Adi,
My comment is actually out of place here, but your post on injury is several months old, and I thought my questions might get missed there.
I had ACL reconstruction surgery four months ago, and prior to my injury had just begun exploring Yoga. Now that I am back on my feet, I am hoping to begin again, with an eye for regaining full flexibility and strength in my injured knee.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found very much useful information on recommended poses and routines. Could you tell me a little bit about what you did specifically following your surgery?
Thank you

Hi Sean,
I hope your recovery is going well. Coming back to yoga post my surgery took a very different shape and look then what I was previously able and used to doing. Practice involved a lot of breathing techniques and really gentle movements with a focus on moving from my core. I avoided anything that caused potential twisting of the knee, and emphasized balancing postures to help strengthen proprioceptive muscles in my leg. I also held forward bends for long periods of time to calm my mind and body from all the stresses they had been through. A block was always near my side. I would and still support my knee in seated postures and use a block underneath my bottom when sitting on my heels , or child’s pose. Also, rolling up a little towel, and placing it in your knee joint while attempting flexion was very helpful. I rode and continue to ride a bike a lot, as I’m sure you already do. I hope some of this is helpful to you. Feel free to ask any questions you may have during this process. I understand and empathize with your situation. I wish you all the best and a patient recovery.
Many Blessings,
Adi Amar

Thank you, Adi.
The advice is greatly appreciated. I’ve already started trying some of the balancing poses, and it is also helpful to know that sitting on something is beneficial. Hopefully I will have some positive results to post in a few months time.
Cheers,
Sean

Please tell me which downloads I need to view this class. I already have quick time but my pc says I need a third party, there are about 8 of them I already downloaded the wrong one.
Thanks

Hi Adi
I love this video and I feel more confident than ever about getting into this pose! I have not done the splits since I was a kid and the preparation for this is perfect! I have been practicing yoga for about 2 years on and off and I needed a deeper hip flexor and hamstring stretch, this is what the dr. ordered! I really love and appreciate how you safely prepare someone for the pose and my hips are thanking you! I love your teaching style and how you explain where you should feel the pose. You’re a great instructor, thank you for all you do!
Namaste

I seem to be having the same problem as Tuty. My quick time player is up to date, yet it is also displaying the message that I need to download a third-party plugin. It is especially perplexing because I had previously done (and truly enjoyed) this class among others, so I’m not sure what changed. Any advice would be appreciated, because I am no technological wiz.
On a side note, thank you yoga today for making yoga classes with such wonderful instructors readily available to those of us who might not have experienced yoga otherwise.
Thanks
Christine
