Just because you’re short on time doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice nutritional value for fast food. Check out this quick and easy lunch recipe that comes from my grandmother in Israel. Enjoy!
Yummy! Adi, that salad looks sooooooo delicious! I make something similar to it by also adding a little bit of red onion and instead of plain salt, I add some garlic salt. I’ve also added bits of fresh basil from my garden.
I’m hungry for it now! Gotta go! Thanks for the reminder about delicious, easy to make salads!
I’m making this tomorrow!!! Like Vicki said, thanks for the reminder that we can actually make our own foods instead of buying them! Great idea!
Love the fact there’s no lettuce. I never understood the whole lettuce “thing” always seemed like filler until you get to the real veggies!
Just had to check in and say that I just made this salad for dinner and LOVED IT!!! Definitely be eating this again and maybe making it for the next pot luck party. Ideal!
I made this salad over the weekend, had one serving and my husband stole the rest. He gave me a “no meat?” look as I was making it, but absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely be making this one again. Can’t wait to see more. Thanks!
Ahh, Adi, you are making me miss Israel too. This was also my favorite salad when I did research in Jerusalem for 6 month, and stateside I make all the time. Additional ingredients that taste great:
Onion
Red/Green Pepper
but its simplicity is what makes it great.
On that note, the Israel trip was how I found Yoga today back in Oct 2007–I was homesick but the Adi bio and videos just made the world seem like a smaller place.
Namastes and Shabbat Shaloms, Emily
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (to infinity) this salad! I make it all the time! I leave out the olive oil though. Seems to weigh it down or something. I’m eating it right now actually!

looks yummy and healthy. where did you get the hi-tech pepper mill?
i add a little arame seaweed to the salad and add pumpkin/sesame seeds as well.
just soak the arame in a little hot water.
