Check out this quick and effective routine designed to energize and strengthen your core and external obliques. We’ll utilize rapid breath of fire to oxygenate the muscles of the whole body and stimulate toning of the belly.

These exercises will stabilize your core, protect your lower back and give your second chakara a big boost. The Sanskrit name for the second chakra is “Svadhisthana,” or “dwelling place of the self.” Yogis believe that strengthening this chakra can help to keep your passionate emotions in check. Speaking of passion: start the video and get ready to feel the burn! ☺

This quick sequence is for the intermediate practitioner looking to re-energize the mind and clear the cobwebs from the hips and shoulders. Enjoy!

It’s great to be back in Jackson with my home kula!

My retreat with Paul Muller-Ortega and his friends rocked my world in the most positive ways.  Paul teaches clarity, understanding, and deep respectful love.  The combination of his teachings and the opportunity to practice with like-minded soul buddies transformed my inner landscape to one of greater ease and strength.  His guidance has prepared me even more for the journey ahead!

Quick Salad

Just because you’re short on time doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice nutritional value for fast food. Check out this quick and easy lunch recipe that comes from my grandmother in Israel. Enjoy!

A wonderful journey has invited me to soften and settle into the culmination of a year of study.  During the past 12 months I have committed to practice with Professor Paul Muller-Ortega in a course of philosophy and meditation.  We have our final retreat together this coming weekend.  In preparation for this amazing time with teacher and community, I am fortunate to step into some non-structured time.

My boyfriend and I have traveled from Wyoming to California over the past few days, practicing yoga at Yoga Kula in Salt Lake City, climbing rocks in Nevada, playing in the Pacific Ocean, more yoga at Soul Yoga in Encinitas, and meditating wherever we find ourselves.

Throughout this experience we have found ourselves surrounded in the love of friends, the texture of learning about each other and the laughter of our fun together.  I look forward to this time with my teacher with a rested, clear and refreshed perspective.

Hello everyone! In this video I offer some warm-up and warm-down exercises that are great when performed before and after hiking and running.

We’ll be going 1,500 feet vertical – climbing the local ski hill, Snow King Mountain. It’s right in our backyard here in the town of Jackson and serves as the perfect treadmill for both people and dogs after a long workday.

Getting outside and being active clears the cobwebs from the mind, loosens up the spine and expands the lungs, leaving your legs strong and your mind at ease.

Come out and enjoy the day with us!

Ayurvedic Homecare

These practices are life enhancing, energizing, grounding, and highly recommended to incorporate into your daily routine.  I learned these Ayurvedic methods from Cate Stillman (C.A.S. and Certified Anusara).  She introduced me to Ayurveda, as the foundation for a yoga practice about 7 years ago.  You can check out her teachings at yogahealer.com or Google Ayurveda for more information.

Me and G :)

Me and G :)

Hi everyone… I recently returned to Jackson from Kripalu in Lenox, Massachusetts where I was practicing with Gurmukh at a women’s retreat.

Gurmukh’s name means “One who helps people across the world ocean”…and let me tell you it was inspirational…we were up at 4:30am every morning for sadhana… morning practice which invigorated and inspired us for the day’s teaching!

Since that retreat I have committed to early morning sadhana, before the sun rises 3-6am is known in many traditions as the “Amrit Vela”–the time of nectar. It is the time before not only the sun rises, but the population rises and therefore everything is still, quiet and divine. Gurmukh promises if you can do your sadhana at this time of day the effects will be even more powerful. Read the rest of this entry »

Absorka Mountain Range - Dubois, Wyoming

Absorka Mountain Range - Dubois, Wyoming

Six gates took me to the Diamond G ranch in Dubois, WY where a women’s retreat was shared amongst 9 old friends. Friday afternoon I arrived to an expansive valley surrounded by the towering cliffs of the Absorka Mountain range. The beauty that engulfed me was absolutely breathtaking. I was greeted by 9 beautiful women who had grown deep hearted friendships for the past 35 years.
My intention was to share with them calming and relaxing yoga practices to enrich and rejuvenate their beings from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. We all united in a large barn to share breathing and stretching techniques to restore and refresh.

After yoga we found our way back to the main house where dinner was served. With ease they shared their history of how they all knew one another, and before I knew it I was invited into their circle of love. The stories went back 35 years … laughter and memories surfaced as I listened to how life experience has taught and grown a deep wisdom within these women.

Beautiful melodies hummed form Marilee’s voice and guitar as we sat around the old wood table. Two candles flickered a peaceful glow across the faces of these incredible women. As they sang old songs about peace and love I felt the most amazing bond and energy. Read the rest of this entry »
